WCTC-SCORE Success Mentor Program

When successful small business owners are asked to list the key factors to their success, receiving specific guidance from a dedicated and experienced mentor often tops the list!

Are you an entrepreneur facing unique challenges as you start or grow your small business? Do you recognize the value of education, specific guidance and personal mentoring in the success of your small business? If so, let the WCTC/SCORE Success Mentor Program help solve your problems and get your small business to the next level!

The Success Mentor Program links experienced mentors with start-up or growth-oriented entrepreneurs who recognize the benefits of a synergistic approach to business building. Counseling is always a great strategy for getting short-term, topic-specific advice. But mentoring is all about establishing a deeper, long-term relationship with industry-specific experts who can help guide you, answer your complex questions and keep you pointed in the right direction…with your success being the ultimate goal!

To gain access to the Success Mentor Program, you as an entrepreneur must:

1. Learn about the courses and services available to you through the WCTC Small Business Center at www.wctc.edu/smallbusiness. Completion of the Small Business Certificate is highly recommended, but not required. Each non-credit course in the certificate series is designed to help you establish a solid foundation for success.
   
   
2. Prepare a comprehensive business plan with a clear action plan for starting/growing your small business venture.
   
   
3. Following completion of items 1 and 2, contact WCTC Small Business Center Manager, Russ Roberts, at 262.695.3468 to discuss your mentoring goals.

Once qualified, you will be connected directly to a SCORE Mentor who is ready to work one-on-one with you at no cost to achieve your business goals. Following your mentor experience, you will be asked to provide feedback to help improve the program.

Building a long-term mentor relationship may be the key ingredient you need to start or grow your own successful small business venture. We encourage you to take advantage of the Success Mentor Program as soon as possible after completing your business plan. The right mentor may be able to save you valuable time, money and headaches…so the earlier you connect, the better!

The Success Mentor Program is an exclusive partnership between the WCTC Small Business Center and SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business. This mentoring program is a balanced partnership requiring equal commitment and investment from both partners.
